An Introduction to Therapeutic Jurisprudence for Non-Lawyers (Winter/Spring 2023)
Description: Many members of the HDHS community engage in work that overlaps with law and public policy.
Frequent attendees of the annual December workshop may have attended presentations invoking therapeutic jurisprudence (TJ),
Law and Public Policy Through a Dignitarian Lens an interdisciplinary school of theory and practice that examines the therapeutic versus anti-therapeutic properties of law and public policy, legal procedures, and legal institutions. I strongly believe there is a natural tie between the human dignity and TJ communities. As both a HDHS board member and founding board chair of the International Society for Therapeutic Jurisprudence (https://intltj.com), a non-profit, learned association dedicated to public education about TJ, I would like to develop a program on TJ expressly for non-lawyers. The main purpose of the program would introduce participants to key TJ sources and help them to access TJ-related materials for their own work.
